We install Hikvision CCTV systems throughout Wells, from single-camera doorbell setups to full commercial surveillance networks. Every system we fit uses genuine Hikvision hardware backed by a manufacturer warranty and configured for remote access on your phone.
Wells properties range from stone-built Cathedral Precinct houses to modern estates around Strawberry Way and Ash Lane. We regularly install CCTV in Wells for homeowners concerned about opportunistic crime, parcel theft, and driveway security. Commercial clients in Wells High Street and the industrial units on Dulcote use our multi-camera NVR systems for 24/7 recording.
Our Wells CCTV installations are designed around your property layout. We run cables through existing conduit where possible, use mini-trunking on stone walls, and position cameras to suit your property's entry points. Every install includes a full demonstration and Hik-Connect setup before we leave.
We provide fixed-price quotes after a site survey. No hidden extras, no call-out charges. The price depends on how many cameras you need, where they are mounted, the cable routes back to the recorder and whether you add an alarm. Hik-Connect remote viewing is set up with every install.
We visit your Wells property, assess the site and plan camera positions that suit your property.
You receive a written quote covering all hardware, cabling, labour and VAT. No surprises.
Cameras, NVR, and cabling installed in a single visit. Neat, tidy, and fully tested.
Full system configuration, Hik-Connect app setup on your devices, and a live demonstration.
DS Electrical Installations (SW) Ltd is a NAPIT-approved electrical contractor based in Mid Somerset, just minutes from Wells. We are qualified electricians, not just CCTV fitters. That means every cable is routed to BS 7671 standards, every connection is properly terminated, and every outdoor camera has the weatherproofing it needs.
We only install Hikvision, the world's leading CCTV brand. No cheap unbranded cameras, no generic NVRs. You get genuine hardware, a manufacturer warranty, and firmware updates through the official Hik-Connect platform. Dan Stevens manages every project from survey to sign-off.
Honest installer guides, what we actually fit, what we'd skip, and why. Worth a read before you book a survey.

Every IP camera we install runs on Cat6a structured cabling with PoE+ switching, one cable per camera, no fused spurs. We size the PoE switch to the full camera count plus 20% headroom and dress the cabinet so the next contractor can trace any port in seconds.
Yes. We install GDPR-compliant CCTV with proper signage at Wells schools, GP surgeries and high street retail. Camera positions are surveyed to capture only what's necessary (avoiding overspill onto public footpaths or neighbouring property), and the NVR retention is set to 30 days by default.
Hikvision is our default, AcuSense 4K cameras for false-alarm-free motion detection, ColorVu for full-colour night vision (no IR ghost), and addressable NVRs with 30-day default retention. Hikvision-only (we don't install Dahua, EZVIZ, Axis or Swann, single-brand reduces firmware/support overhead). All systems remote-viewable on iVMS-4500 mobile app and HikConnect web portal.
Yes. Every commercial CCTV install includes outward-facing GDPR signage at the boundary and a one-page privacy impact assessment document for your records (covering camera positions, retention period, who has access). For domestic installs we make sure cameras don’t overspill onto neighbouring property or public footpaths.
