Bath's school estate splits across three building eras. The independent and grammar-tradition schools (Royal High, King Edward's, Kingswood, Prior Park area) are largely Georgian and Victorian heritage stock, Grade I/II listed in many cases, which means surface-mounted galvanised conduit, no chasing into stone, and listed-building consent for any visible alteration. Postwar primary stock around Twerton, Oldfield Park and Larkhall is mostly 1960s/70s with split-load consumer units that usually need replacing before new circuits are added; we quote board-and-circuits as one job. Newer academy and free-school builds are fine for additions but watch for proprietary metering and BMS-tied lighting controls.
